Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled logistician to oversee our transportation fleet at Terra Contracting Inc. This pivotal role requires meticulous planning, effective management, and a keen understanding of logistics operations to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of equipment and materials. The ideal candidate will contribute to our mission of timely and precise problem-solving, reflecting our 30 years of expertise in infrastructure development.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse fleet of vehicles, including transport trucks, saw trucks, hydro vacuum trucks, and dump trucks.
• Develop efficient transportation routes to minimize costs and maximize delivery efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with the operations department and superintendents to meet transportation needs and schedules.
• Maintain detailed records of fuel logs and vehicle hours.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Monitor fleet performance, fuel consumption, and driver productivity by implementing metrics and tracking systems.
• Establish and track equipment utilization to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance operational efficiency.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in logistics management, specifically in overseeing transportation fleets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
• CDL A and a thorough understanding of DOT regulations is preferred.
• A willingness to embrace a fast-paced environment with a dedication to excellence.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Strong analytical skills to understand and improve equipment utilization for cost-saving opportunities.
• Ability to implement and manage tracking systems for optimal fleet and equipment performance.
