Position: Part Time Drum Dryer Operator

We're on the lookout for a dedicated Drum Dryer Operator to join our team on a part-

time basis. The successful candidate will operate and maintain our rotary drum dryer

system to ensure efficient drying of biomass materials. This position requires a

willingness to learn the drying process, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to

safety and environmental compliance.

*** Our site is located at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center/Stewart

Conservation Camp Dairy Farm. We are rehabilitating minimum security inmates by

teaching them about organic recycling. The work area is completely

outdoor with dry, dusty, hot, wet, and cold conditions. Applicants must be comfortable

working in this environment and cannot have any prior felony convictions by state law.

Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week. The dryer operates between 4:00 am and

10:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. We're especially looking for candidates who are

interested in working either the beginning or the end of our daily operations.

Pay: $17 - $22 per hour DOE

Location: Carson City, NV

Responsibilities:

- Operate and monitor rotary drum dryer system to ensure efficient drying of biomass

materials.

- Adjust air pressure, material handling speed, and other variables to optimize drying

efficiency and product quality.

- Monitor and control drying temperatures to ensure product consistency and quality.

- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on drum dryer systems.

- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process problems.

- Maintain accurate records of dryer operation and maintenance activities.

- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of PPE.

- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

- Work with team members to achieve production goals and maintain a safe work

environment.

- Look for opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or heavy equipment operation a

plus.

- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.

- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy

objects and working in varying weather conditions.

- Experience in a similar operation such as biomass, material handling, or agriculture is

a plus.
