SummaryAssembles components, subassemblies, products, or systems according to blueprints, relative to the Sonic Drilling Head (Sonic Oscillator) equipment series. Provides customer service to field units regarding use, maintenance, and repair of the Sonic Oscillator assembly.
Communications
  • Reads and comprehends instructions and correspondence; asks appropriate questions and performs the instructed task.
  • Effectively and respectfully communicates with supervisor, coworkers, and operational customers in verbal and written formats.
  • Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Coordinates all communications between floor supervisors and management; demonstrates effective verbal communication skills.
  • Influences and encourages a free flow of information between employees and management.
  • Effectively teaches technical and nontechnical aspects of jobs to employees with various levels of experience.
  • Acts as a role model in the communications with employees and management.
  • Holds ultimate accountability for communications within their work cell.
Documentation
  • Completes and submits daily labor tickets as required.
  • Completes all required documentation in a coherent, legible and timely manner.
Production
  • Manages own time to ensure he/she remains productive.
  • Capable of working independently and with others.
  • Conscientious about work quality and work area neatness.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds job specific production goals.
  • Demonstrates understanding of production procedures and service processes.
  • Effectively and consistently takes responsibility for all work cell activities.
  • Troubleshoots production issues to reduce down time and improve safety.
Safety and Risk Management
  • Uses appropriate safety equipment and personal protection equipment.
  • Accepts accountability for own conduct and obligations.
  • Successfully completes eight hour OSHA training within six months of employment and annually thereafter.
  • Demonstrates consistent awareness for safety and risk issues.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of industry practices and applicable regulations.
  • Performs daily inspections of work cell and documents and resolves safety issues immediately.
  • Orients new employees to job safety and risk management.
Technical – General
  • Able to do repetitive work and effectively use hand tools.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs to in-plant equipment.
  • Through hands-on experience and course work, acts as the content expert on projects.
  • Demonstrates advanced mechanical aptitude and reasons through mechanical problems in a logical manner.
  • Reports job progress as required internally, with proper documentation.
  • Provides feedback to management regarding process improvement opportunities.
  • Able to anticipate and foresee issues with blueprints and schematics prior to the start of projects, and takes appropriate corrective action.
Technical – Job-Specific
  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify production problems.
  • Crimps, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Designs, measures, marks and lays out chassis and holes to be drilled per blueprints.
  • Mounts assembled components, such as control panels, electric drive motors and other electrical components, on chassis panel.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches, to assemblies.
  • Drills and taps holes in specified locations for mounting control units.
  • Operates saw and shear.
  • Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from workpiece.
  • Performs preventive maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or workpieces.
  • Able to perform basic machine operation, e.g., operator drill press, engine lathes, vertical mills, iron worker, etc.
  • Able to operate machines such as shears, press break and welder, as required.
  • Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor to clarify production problems.
  • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
  • Demonstrates advanced hydraulic and pneumatic skills as well as advanced water flow knowledge.

Education And/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations
  • Fork lift operator certification required
Mathematical Skills
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
