Job Summary

Terra Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting department and oversee all aspects of financial reporting. This onsite role involves developing and maintaining accounting principles, best practices, and systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting information. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and be adept at advising on budgets, financial strategy, reporting, and forecasting. In addition, the Accounting Manager will manage the accounting team, assist with audit and ledger preparation, and support managers across various departments with financial procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive financial statements and analyses for the entire company.
• Supervise and manage accounting department staff, providing day-to-day leadership and oversight.
• Maintain and enhance all accounting procedures and processes.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all financial statements.
• Record, research, and analyze all financial data for accuracy and insight.
• Oversee the preparation, reporting, and analysis of company budgets.
• Document and interpret complex financial information for managers, executives, and C-suite leaders.
• Develop and advise on financial management procedures and policies.
• Oversee the preparation of financial reports for stockholders, tax authorities, regulatory agencies, and other financial stakeholders.
• Conduct audits of the accounting and finance departments.
• Forecast and plan according to the company's fiscal needs and objectives.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly preferred.
• Proven experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with accounting software systems and implementation is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, cost control principles, and GAAP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to manage employees and handle multiple large projects simultaneously.
