Overview:Terrible's is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Employee Relations and Benefits. This critical leadership role will be responsible for fostering a positive and productive work environment, managing employee relations, and overseeing the design and implementation of comprehensive employee benefits programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, employee relations, and benefits administration, with a focus on enhancing the overall employee experience at Terrible's.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive employee relations, engagement, and a healthy workplace culture.
  • Lead a team consisting of an Employee Relations Supervisor and HR Business Partners who serve as the primary contact for addressing employee concerns and conflicts.
  • Collaborate with department heads and management to address and resolve workplace issues proactively.
  • Oversee investigations into employee complaints and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Coordinate and prepare responses to legal inquiries, claims, etc.
  • Work with partners in operations to develop and implement policies and procedures.

Benefits Administration:

  • Design, implement, and manage comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other wellness initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to ensure the company's benefits offerings remain competitive and align with employee needs.
  • Oversee the annual benefits renewal process, negotiate with vendors, and make recommendations for plan changes as needed
  • Oversee the administration of workers’ compensation, leave and accommodation programs.
  • Provide guidance and education to employees regarding their benefits, ensuring a clear understanding of available options.
  • Lead a team consisting of a Benefits Supervisor and Benefits Specialists to ensure the accurate processing of employee benefits.
  • Coordinate the renewal and management of workers’ compensation policies.

Compensation Management:

  • Design, implement, and manage a competitive and equitable compensation structure.
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure the company's compensation practices remain competitive within the industry.
  • Oversee the administration of all compensation programs, including base salary, bonuses, and benefits.

HRIS Management

  • Serve as co-project manager for Workday rollout of Advanced Compensation, Talent, Workday Learning, and People Analytics.
  • Oversee HRIS Management for Workday.

Training and Development:

  • Collaborate with the Training and Development team to design and implement programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and career development.
  • Provide training to managers and employees on HR-related topics, including performance management, diversity and inclusion, and workplace policies.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of employee relations and benefits programs.
  • Generate regular reports for senior leadership on key HR metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree and HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations and benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience in managing and resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • In-depth understanding of benefits design, administration, and compliance.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.
