What Will You Be Doing?

The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager, Hub and Station Operations is support of the IT infrastructure across all hubs and remote airport locations. Work includes prioritizing and scheduling project, task, and tickets to ensure properly functioning IT systems are available for serving end customers at ticket counters, gates, and operations support areas. The Senior Manager role will work extensively with both their leader, airport management, various business departments, and vendors as necessary to achieve the business objectives.

The Senior Manager will plan, coordinate, and direct several regional station operations managers and technical staff members. The staff members are experienced desktop support or Help Desk technicians that travel to cities where Frontier Airlines has a presence.

The senior manager is ultimately responsible for the quality and output of the team reporting to them. They are expected to proactively identify and resolve issues that may involve technology, process, and performance. The Senior Manager will identify options and escalate issues beyond their span of control. Additional responsibility includes management of small to medium size projects, identification of operational trends and supporting metrics, documenting the environment, staffing, problem ownership, and providing IT input to the business.

Essential Functions

  • Manage all aspects of the staff reporting to the position to effectively recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate, monitor and report on their activities.
  • Develop and implement standards, procedures, policies, and business processes with best practices.
  • Act as a liaison between IT, Facilities, Stations, and other internal/external business partners to establish business process’ and procedures to maintain the airline IT environment.
  • Monitor, record, analyze and report on activities, trends, results, and recommendations relating to internal/external business partner request.
  • Oversee and conduct site surveys for new locations to fully determine the business requirements and placement of IT-related equipment and peripherals.
  • Work with business partners to manage and conduct station equipment moves, adds, changes, and other station related IT activities.
  • Ensure all security controls for airport IT systems & networks are monitored and in compliance with regulatory controls including SOX, PCI, and TSA.
  • Report on status of activities to sr. leadership, or business partners as requested.
  • Track and report on organization capital and operational expenses within the scope of their operations.
  • Use effective judgment and professional initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to customer and end-user support issues, queries, challenges, and escalations.
  • Prepare and submit team documentation in an accurate manner, for example work schedules, vacation schedules, payroll, reviews, and safety documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6 years managerial/supervisory/other leadership experience
  • 10 years of experience in IT, with broad range of exposure to the full OSI stack.
  • Airline Experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent time management, communication, decision making, presentation and organization skills.
  • Attention to detail and high standards of quality.
  • Excellent customer service, employee management and technical skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of Widows Desktop Operating Systems
    • Strong understanding of Network concepts and technologies.
    • Strong understanding of Microsoft Server operating systems.
    • Proficient understanding of various infrastructure technologies such as WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, Active Directory, DNS, and VPN.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a plus.
  • Excellent trouble shooting capability.
  • Proficient in MS Office Tools specifically MS Excel, & Visio
  • Practical understanding of ITIL V2/V3, and Agile principles and practices
  • Ability to work with a minimum of direction and set a strong, self-directed work ethic.
  • Proven track record of managing a technical team.
  • Ability to facilitate a climate of cohesiveness, cooperation, and teamwork.
  • Adaptable to new, different, or changing situations in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Schedules activities and set priorities so deadlines are met, goals accomplished.
  • Exhibits characteristics of an IT professional in terms of administration, accountability, ownership, and cost management.
  • Possess excellent troubleshooting methodology; quickly assess problems and provide direction to resolve.
  • Prioritizes tasks and effectively delegate incoming workflow.
  • Quickly learns new technologies and processes unique to the airline industry.
  • Self identifies as a lifetime learner is a plus.

Physical Effort

Position requires extremely strenuous physical work involving objects in excess of 100 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently.

Supervision Received

Considerable Latitude: The incumbent establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives, and receives guidance in terms of broad goals. Only the final results of work are typically reviewed.
