Tex-Tech is a global leader in the research, development, and manufacturing of innovative, high-performance materials. We produce material for aerospace, defense, automotive, high-performance, and medical textile industries. Our Tex-Tech Coatings division, located in downtown Kernersville, North Carolina, is seeking a Manufacturing Manager for its Lamination department.

The Manufacturing Manager leads the operations of the department alongside a dedicated Process Engineer and with a production staff of 13 across two shifts. This position is salary exempt and reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Duties and responsibilities include:

1. Lead operations in the Lamination area that includes managing a team (one or more process engineers and an hourly production team) responsible for running a coating/finishing production line and four laminators.
2. Provide safety leadership at the Kernersville plant with special attention to the assigned area.
3. Lead monthly safety trainings and follow up on safety projects in the Lamination department.
4. Maintain a positive and professional workplace in the Lamination department.
5. Follow up with associates regularly to ensure compliance with established work instructions and quality procedures.
6. Identify and drive continuous improvement in the Lamination area.
7. Coordinate with the Quality department to control the release of 1st quality product, using the established manufacturing review board process.
8. With the Qualify department, review supplier issues and customer complaints to develop root cause and preventive measures.
9. Work with Production Planning to ensure on-time delivery and promote efficient schedule optimization.
10. Control and reduce total product cost (optimizing yield, speed / efficiency, labor, raw materials, supplies, and packaging).
11. Work with support areas (Planning, Warehouse, Mixing, Maintenance, and Lab) to optimize the lamination process.
12. Responsible for maintaining and reporting KPI’s and other metrics to the plant controller and plant management.
13. React quickly and with a high sense of urgency when dealing with safety, personnel, quality, and production problems.
14. Coordinate with Sales to maintain and grow our customer base.
15. Work with development and sales on the development / manufacturing feasibility of new products/processes.
