The Texarkana Arkansas School District is accepting applications for secondary (9-12) social studies teacher effective immediately. PRIMARY PURPOSE:Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable studentsto develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:Bachelor’s degree from accredited universityValid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of subjects assignedGeneral knowledge of curriculum and instructionAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperience:At least one year of student teaching or approved internshipThe Board may find appropriate and acceptable alternatives to the above qualifications. Those offered employment must pass a national criminal background check and a background check of the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Central Registry.
