What we want The Financial Analyst II in the School of Nursing Centralized Finance office, under direction of the Associate Dean for Finance, assists with the management and deployment of the school budget. This role develops financial analysis and reports, develops, and maintains financial and statistical models, and prepares projections, analyzes variances, and reports findings. The Financial Analyst prepares reports and financial presentations and account reconciliations. What you need to know Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience Three years of experience in accounting, finance, and/ or financial analysis, or related areas Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others Verbal and written communication skills Analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work with large data sets Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or closely related field Five years of related experience Experience with financial accounting systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Use of business intelligence software and budget and planning software Experience in using university systems: FAMIS, Canopy, AggieBuy, Workday, Concur and Maestro Responsibilities: Budget Assists in the management and deployment of the School of Nursing budget. Coordinates budget analysis, preparation, and forecasting of revenue, personnel, and operating costs. Develops financial models to support financial strategic and programmatic goals. Researches budgeting, accounting, and departmental issues; analyzes data. Monitors budget and expenditures, budget flags, account deficits, and other budget related functions. Develops presentations for communicating budget and other financial information to various audiences. Assists with budget/financial analysis for Academic Review Cycle. Financial Documents and Reports Develops monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analysis. Develops and maintains statistical models to perform revenue and expense forecasting. Develops projections and analyzes variance and report findings. Provides recommendations and reports. Develops various business analyses using Business Objects software. Maintains Business Object templates and reports. Assists with the preparation of various legislative reports and analyses, including the biennial Legislative Appropriations Request. Account Reconciliation and Analysis Reviews and approves monthly reconciliation of revenue and expenses. Prepares reconciliation reports. Develops complex administrative, financial, and statistical analyses and summary reports. Assists with revenue/formula funding analysis and calculations for new or changes to existing academic programs as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
