Job DescriptionWho We AreThe Office for Youth Engagement was created to increase Texas youth’s knowledge of post-secondary opportunities through strategic engagement with Texas A&M University. Our team works collaboratively with partners across the University as well in communities across the State of Texas to create opportunities for youth to connect with career aspirations and understand the value of education.
What We WantThe Program Coordinator II, works closely with the Program Manager and Director to cultivate and manage stakeholder relationships in Fort Worth, Texas. We are looking for someone familiar with the Fort Worth region, who is a self-starter, and excited to be part of growing a new initiative in the area. The Program Coordinator II, works with other youth engagement teammates to implement curriculum and community-based initiatives that directly impact students’ knowledge of and access to post-secondary educational opportunities through programming and workshops with youth and their families.
What You Need To KnowSalary: $50,000 - $55,000
Location: This position is Fort Worth, TX

Special Note: This is a remote position but you must be within the Ft. Worth area. You will be traveling to schools within the region presenting to studentsEssential Duties/Tasks
  • In School Programming - Internalize youth engagement curriculum to facilitation; Execute youth engagement lessons using Office curriculum & resources in K12 schools with youth and families. Conduct all pre- and post-program communication with stakeholders as needed. Travel between program locations.
  • Program Coordination - Develop new programs and engagement activities including school workshops, community events, and other engagement opportunities. Develop school and community partnerships and coordinate the participation of volunteers and support with marketing.
  • Reporting - Complete regular reporting and data submission related to school and community programs. Track engagement metrics and provide regular reports on impact.
  • Community Programming - Execute youth engagement lessons in community spaces. Recruit/support volunteers to become active partners in the Office’s youth engagement work.
QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Four years of working with youth in a school or community-based organization, higher education recruitment, admissions, program coordination, or closely related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the importance of education and its impact on economic & social mobility and basic requirements to access post-secondary education.
  • Knowledge of the barriers to education
  • Skilled in building partnerships or relationships across teams.
  • Skilled in program coordination including the use of planning tools, Outlook and Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to work in different environments (schools, community events, online, etc) and at times best suited to the community (including some evenings and weekends).
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders and track/analyze data to develop reports.
  • Ability to travel in/around the DFW area.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Class “C” vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Close proximity to Ft. Worth area.
  • Oral proficiency in Spanish.
  • 2 years of experience with program coordination and/or advising students related to college and career choices.
