Texas A M University is Hiring a Tenure Track: Assistant Professor in Oceans and One Health Near Galveston, TX

The Departments of Marine and Coastal Environmental Science (MCES) and Foundational Science (FSCI) at Texas A&M University at Galveston invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a 9-month academic appointment beginning Fall 2024. This position will include a courtesy joint appointment in the Foundational Sciences Division (FSCI) at Texas A&M University at Galveston.
Responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate courses in Oceans and One Health, offered by FSCI; mentoring graduate students in MCES masters and doctoral programs; and providing service to the FSCI and MCES Departments, the Galveston campus, and the university. The successful candidate is expected to develop and lead an independent, extramurally funded research agenda related to health issues affecting populations in coastal regions that broadly complements research in the MCES Department.
The MCES Department is comprised of an interdisciplinary faculty with research interests in natural, social, and applied scientific problems within coastal and marine near-shore systems. MCES graduate programs focus on training the next generation of researchers and practitioners to address pressing problems facing coastal communities at the nexus of the human, built, and natural environments.
Texas A&M University at Galveston is an ocean-oriented branch campus of Texas A&M University which educates nearly 2,300 undergraduate and graduate students in a unique blend of marine and maritime programs, including majors in science, business, engineering, liberal arts, and transportation. DrPH in Public Health or Ph.D in a One Health-related field is required.
