Position Title: Child Nutrition Manager
Reports to: Principal
Department: Cafeteria
Position Category: Permanent/non-exempt/full-time/10 months
Position Summary: The Child Nutrition Manager is responsible for the on-site management and implementation of cafeteria operations. This person ensures the appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served, the cafeteria staff is meeting time constraints set by menu requirements, and the ordering of materials and supplies for food preparation is done properly, and safeguards that all operations follow safe food handling standards. In addition, s/he oversees and manages student accounts and account funding procedures.
Essential Job Function:
· Maintain a clean and organized storage area
· Compile, maintain, and complete reports, records, and other documents
· Create and maintain positive communication with students, administration, staff, and faculty
· Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes
· Record and maintain student finance records
· Complete financial records including deposits of monies for student accounts
· Complete annual continuing education requirements
· Promote FWAFA in a positive manner within the school and community
· Perform other duties as assigned
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Computer, kitchen utensils, standard cafeteria equipment
Posture: Prolonged standing, infrequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 25 pounds)
Environment: Work is located on campus site in a cafeteria; regular exposure to noise
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification:
· Certified Food Manager (CFM) (preferred)
· Certified Texas Food Handler License (required)
· Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances used in food preparation
· Knowledge of food handler safety
· Ability to manage personnel
· Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $30.00 per hour
