PRN Charge Nurse - Medical Surgical

Work location : Texas Health Dallas: 8200 Walnut Hill Lane Dallas, TX 75231
Work hours : PRN (as needed) Days
Medical Surgical Department Highlights :
•23-bed unit.
•Cases include multiple acute chronic diseases such as Sepsis, Pneumonia, COPD and Diabetes.
•Department focuses on improving the quality of care for patients undergoing general surgeries such as Knees, Joint Replacement and Pulmonary.
What you need:
  • Associate's Degree Nursing required, Nursing Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
  • Other- CLIAFE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • 1 year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required
  • 2 years' experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required And
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 days required And
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support charge only 90 days required

•The Charge Nurse role will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team.

•This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
