TEXAS LEADERSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS Job Title: Athletic Director Department: Athletics Reports To: Campus Principal FLSA Status: Exempt GENERAL PURPOSE: The role of an athletic director is to manage all facets of an athletic program, including scheduling, hiring coaches, promoting programs and events, ordering equipment, constructing budgets, and facilitating operations. Athletic directors also often help fundraise events, coordinate with the booster club, and supervise sports personnel. Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the athletic program in accordance with the School Handbook, UIL, and the Education CodeManage all facets of the athletic program including the placement of coaches and event schedulingDemonstrate the ability to multi-task and resolve conflict in a timely mannerMust possess a strong judgment of characterAbility to demonstrate strong communication skillsServe as a Leader by modeling tenacity and heart to the organizationMay be required to teach MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Specific Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (required)Coaching background (preferred)Valid Texas Teaching Certification (preferred)Minimum of three years in a classroom setting (preferred) Physical Demands / Work Environment: Long hours of standing or performing athletic functionsMust maintain control in stressful situationsFrequent travel may be required, including overnight travelExtended hours may be required
