Description

We're currently looking for an Android Software Engineer who will be instrumental to the development of new Telematics/Infotainment applications that are downloaded and/or directly integrated to in-vehicle infotainment. You will be a member of the core applications team and will work hand in hand with stakeholders and other engineers throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

Requirements

What you need:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or similar field of study 
• Proven experience with object-oriented design and design patterns and knowledge of and desire to work in an Agile development environment
• Minimum 3 years of experience with native Android UI development for embedded and/or vehicle systems
• Kotlin experience (as alternative to Java) 
• Android UI design experience (including custom views)
• Experience with writing Android clients for Web Services (REST, RPC, and/or SOAP)
• Android Activities and Fragments
• Multi-threaded development on Android platforms
• Familiarity of Intents, ContentProviders, Services, BroadcastReceivers, Handlers and AIDL
• Experience using source code control systems such as Git and pull request processes

Bonus qualifications:

• 5 years' experience with native Android UI development for embedded and/or vehicle systems preferred
• Thorough knowledge of evolving Android platforms (Android M, Android P, etc.)
• Experience with Agile development methodologies including XP practices such as test-driven development and pair programming
• Awareness of the Android UI/UX guidelines
• Experience with mapping and search providers
• Experience with other Google APIs (licensing, in-app billing, etc)
• Experience leveraging Android Widgets
• Experience with Internationalization and Localization
