What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director - Reporting position at Texas Tech University System?
Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large, specialized project and/or program. Requires independent judgment and application of established policies and procedures. Works under general supervision with evaluation based on overall results obtained.
- Assist with preparation and compilation of the Texas Tech University System (TTUS) Annual Combined Financial Report (ACFR), in collaboration with TTUS component institutions.
- Interprets and implements Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements and communicates accounting and reporting impact to TTUS system administration and component institutions.
- Identifies opportunities to innovative, streamline, and improve financial reporting processes.
- Contributes to policy development and updates. Identifies deficiencies in standard operating procedures and internal controls and recommends improved processes for implementation.
- Research proper accounting treatment for transactions.
- Assist leadership with ensuring timely and accurate reporting from TTUS component institution and affiliated organizations.
- Provide direct assistance to management on special projects and other tasks as assigned.
