Description
The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant reports to the Financial Reporting Manager and is responsible for assisting the Financial Reporting group with financial and operational reporting, analysis, and related information needed to make operational and strategic decisions for the company’s business. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate has a proven ability to work independently, interacts well within a team environment, and is flexible and adaptable as priorities change.
· Standard and ad hoc reporting: assist with compiling and analyzing the monthly management package, monthly BOD deck, quarterly financial statements, annual financial statements and footnotes, quarterly covenant compliance package and flash reporting.
· Cross-team collaboration: coordinate with multiple teams to collect variance explanations (e.g., actuals vs. budget, trend analysis, comparative financial statements), which are presented to management.
· Budgeting and forecasting: coordinate with Finance team to provide data, as needed.
· Support acquisition integration and divestiture activities.
· Ad Hoc: perform analysis to support miscellaneous projects.
· Continuous improvement: build templates and reports to create efficiencies and enhance analysis.
· Account reconciliations: review, analyze, and resolve discrepancies on a monthly basis.
· Special projects: work on special projects and perform analysis when needed.
· External audit support: prepare schedules, follow up on inquiries, and coordinate with various groups on open items list.
· Maintain chart of accounts and account mapping for reporting requirements and related analysis.
· Corporate accounting: prepare and review journal entries that support G&A (e.g., accruals, prepaid amortization), hedges/derivatives, and equity transactions.
· Consolidation: prepare and review journal entries for eliminations, related party transactions, intercompany transactions, and settlements.
· Training: assist and guide team’s staff accountants during month-end close.
Requirements
· Minimum 5 years of experience preferred in same or related area
· Recent public accounting experience preferred
· CPA or graduate degree preferred
· Strong analytical skills with problem-solving aptitude
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Understanding of ERP systems, Quorum software experience is a plus
· Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency with Word and Power Point
