ACCOUNTING MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:

TH Plastics, Inc., is a custom injection molder serving the appliance and automotive industries, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual for the following position in our Mendon, Michigan corporate office.

JOB OVERVIEW: Oversees and performs accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions according to established procedures as directed by the Corporate Controller

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Finance
• 2-4 Years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with ERP/MRP Software Applications
• 2-4 years payroll experience, knowledge of ADP payroll software preferred
• Full understanding of multi-state payroll tax calculations and compliance
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Spreadsheets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Regular on-site attendance

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(The following list does not include all duties and responsibilities)

• Oversee and support accounts payable and accounts receivable by means of the following:
  • Backup processing of supplier invoices and payments in accordance with departmental procedures
  • Backup processing of customer invoicing and payment applications in accordance with departmental procedures
  • Verify AP and AR accounts by reconciling statements and transactions
  • Analysis of GL accounts and resolution of account discrepancies by investigating documentation
  • Developing detailed knowledge of data/information flow through ERP system
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with supplier and customer accounting contacts
  • Communicating with suppliers and customers to resolve account issues
  • Managing incoming AP invoice emails
  • Prepare and maintain documents to set up new suppliers and customers in ERP system
  • Preparation and filing of annual 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC
• Oversee and support payroll department by means of the following:
  • Backup processing of weekly payroll for all departments and divisions of the company utilizing company payroll software
  • Assist with all quarter and year end payroll processes and reporting, including benefit plan audits and 5500 census reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining payroll software to ensure accuracy of employee payroll and HR data files
• Preparing various documents necessary to produce financial statements, periodic reports, and year-end audit work papers in accordance with establish procedures
• Participating in annual physical inventory process
• Developing knowledge and understanding of company banking policies and procedures
• Developing knowledge of product lines, customer base and supplier base
