Thayer Academy’s Upper School seeks a student-focused collaborator to teach in its Upper School History Department. This full-time position includes instructing four classes, advising a small group of students, and participating in the life of the school with students through coaching and/or supervising student activities. This position is a salaried, exempt, full-time, regular, 10-month position. Upper School teachers report to the Upper School Director.Roles & ResponsibilitiesTeach four sections of History, ranging from World History (we offer a two-year World History curriculum), US History, and possible senior semester-based electives.Advise a group of 8-10 students.Apply practices in the classroom and other settings that foster equity, inclusion, and belonging among Thayer Academy community members. Serve as an athletic coach for one or more seasons (preferred).Participate in ongoing professional development and engage in growth opportunities.
