About the Role

As an Accounting Specialist, you will manage the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory control, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.

We are looking for a motivated individual with impeccable attention to detail, solid time management skills, flexibility, and a constant desire to improve. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and experience with accounting software programs (Sage 300 CRE preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, and process general ledger transactions within accounting program.
• Timely and accurate payroll processing, ensuring precise calculation of wages, benefits, and deductions while maintaining compliance with tax regulations.
• Accurate job cost accounting across multiple jobs and billing periods
• Assist with benefits administration and human resources.
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable including paying invoices, processing deposits, and following up on past due accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a relevant field is preferred.
• Over 3 years of accounting experience, construction industry preferred.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office, Google Suite, and financial management software.

Required Skills

• Proven track record in establishing and building financial controls and accounting systems.
• Effective communication skills, written and oral; comfortable communicating key data, including presentations as needed.
• Highly organized and adaptive, able to uphold structure and priorities amidst a fast paced & changing environment.
• Self-starting personality with a data-driven and analytical mindset
• Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Successful track record of keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making and demonstrable analytic abilities.
• Excellent technological and computer skills including database/spreadsheet skills, Sage 300 CRE accounting software and MS Office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
