Position Summary

The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) seeks an experienced, energetic, and dependable self- starter to join the Inside Programs Youth Department, which enhances and develops rehabilitative and mentoring programming in youth facilities throughout California to prepare incarcerated youth for reentry. The ideal candidate will be someone with experience developing and facilitating mentoring programs, who will bring initiative and integrity to his/her/their work. The Inside Programs Youth Department Coordinator will work from ARC’s Los Angeles office. This person will be responsible for completing quarterly reports, data entry, implementing programming at youth facilities, and supporting the Associate Director/Director of The Inside Programs Youth Department.

The Inside Programs Youth Department Coordinator will support new Credible Messengers with training and implementation of ARC rehabilitative and mentoring programming. This position will work with Credible Messengers to, gather re-entry resources, and maintain accurate data entry. The Inside Programs Youth Department Coordinator will play a critical role in the organization, bringing hope and opportunity to incarcerated youth, and preparing them for their continued relationship with ARC upon release.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist ARC Credible Messenger Mentors with updating computer skills and use of technology.
  • Support existing Credible Messengers with supplies and copies of materials.
  • Collect and input data from Credible Messenger Mentors.
  • Schedule training for Credible Messenger Mentors.
  • Meet regularly with new Credible Messengers for updates in needs and changing requirements.
  • Process ARC Mentor stipends, reimbursement requests, and milage.
  • Work with Probation administrative staff to improve communication.
  • Complete DJJ and Probation monthly/quarterly reports.
  • Provide and maintain appropriate data and files of participants both electronic and paper.
  • Maintain a professional attitude, confidentiality, and respect for cultural differences.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required.
  • Valid Driver’s License, personal vehicle.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing youth and probation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Data Base management experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Bilingual in Spanish beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel weekly and work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as needed.

Salary/Benefits

  • Pay rate is $26.44-$28.85/hourly doe
