The Arc Eastern Connecticut is Hiring a Program Supervisor-Danielson, CT - Part time (35 hours) Near Norwich, CT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Program Supervisor is responsible for providing programmatic and administrative assistance to the Direct Support Lead and Professional. The Supervisor provides planning, supervision, and support to an assigned group of individuals to ensure they experience valued roles in their communities and to enrich the individuals’ quality of life through training, instruction, and inclusion techniques. He/She is also responsible for providing supervision and training to assigned staff. He/She will adhere to the policies established by The Arc Eastern Connecticut, Inc. Board of Directors whose goal is to maintain full community inclusion and integration for all individuals who are supported by the Arc.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma) required. Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a health/human service field and supervisory experience preferred.
  • The Program Supervisor must have a valid driver’s license. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment. He/She will be required to obtain and maintain CPR, PMT, First Aid, and other pertinent certifications throughout the duration of their employment.
  • The Program Supervisor must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. He/She will be required to participate in lifts, transfers, and behavioral or physical intervention when necessary. He/She may be exposed to risk of injury or exposure to occupational health hazards.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides training and support to staff regarding paperwork requirements, program individuals’ issues and behaviors, site orientation, and programmatic and administrative concerns.
  • Ensures staff are maintaining the highest standard of health, sanitation, safety, and dignity for all program individuals.
  • Schedules coverage for assigned staff in accordance with Arc policies.
  • Assists in ensuring that the PCP is implemented, programs developed, and daily documentation is being provided within the department.
  • Review’s paperwork submitted by assigned staff to ensure its completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborates with other providers/agencies to coordinate transportation services.
  • Ensures confidentiality as required by law and the Arc and DDS policies and procedures which includes keeping records, conversations, correspondence (regarding program individuals and staff) confidential.
  • Other duties may be designated to maintain service quality.
  • In the absence of the Director of Day Services, reports to the Deputy QA Office Day Services.

  • Advocates for and protects program individuals’ rights in accordance with Arc policies and procedures.
  • Treats all individuals in an age-appropriate manner, with respect and dignity, and to encourage opportunities that promote choice.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with individuals, their families, and providers.
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license, privately owned vehicle, and evidence of insurance.
