The Arc New York is Hiring a Remote Grants Writer and Administrator

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for managing the grant application process, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and monitoring grant-funded programs. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Chapter Representatives and Grant Review Committee to determine grant needs and priorities.
  • Research and identify grant funding opportunities that align with our organizational needs, with high probability of funding.
  • Participate in networking opportunities to foster relationships with private foundations.
  • Work collaboratively with Chapter Representatives in determining grant eligibility requirements.
  • Manage the grant application process, including research and writing of grant proposals, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
  • Perform quality reviews, proofreading, and validation of proposals for completeness and compliance.
  • Develop and catalog external resources in the areas of training, grant funding sources, and other grant-related resources.
  • Develop and implement administrative procedures, tools, and controls to track all grant activities and timelines.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication on multi-Chapter grant projects to ensure that grants are processed and administered in a timely manner and according to grant requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise in determining grant compliance requirements.
  • Monitor grant-funded programs.
  • Maintain centralized reports of grant activity (grant applied for, grants awarded, grants closed, etc.).
  • Program evaluation and auditing, as well as financial reporting, analysis and tracking of grant funds.
  • Develop payment request form per grant award, to be submitted to the Arc New York Accounts Payable Department to ensure funds are released to the identified subrecipients in accordance with the grant requirements.
  • Responsible for preparing and maintaining materials necessary for all grant related Federal A-133 audit requirements and works collaboratively with the Arc New York Finance Team during the audit process.
  • Report grants activity and progress to Grant Review Committee.
  • Evaluate grant impact and socialize with all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for annual presentations to the Board of Governors in collaboration with the Grant Review Committee.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

: Experience in grant seeking, grant administration, and coordinating grant management activities. Knowledge of federal, state, private, and other sources of grant funding.

: Strong research, organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Great interpersonal skills a must.

: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Position requires the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all interactions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience writing government, corporate and/or foundation grants and managing projects.
  • Any combination of experience in the areas of grant development, grant monitoring, marketing, finance, community relations, fundraising or development equivalent to five (5) years.
  • Experience required in conducting research, handling multiple high priority projects with competing deadlines and writing reports.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
