The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region is Hiring a HOUSE SUPERVISOR Near Aberdeen, MD

Position Summary:
The role of House Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of their assigned houses and the supported people within the Community Living or Personal Support Services department, the supervision of the staff providing direct supports to the supported people within those houses or areas and the coordination of all services and aspects of the supported peoples’ lives on their caseload.

Position Responsibilities:
In a manner consistent with supporting The Arc NCR Mission Statement the House Supervisor shall do the following:

  • Supervise, train, hire, and manage Direct Support Professionals.
  • Provide regular supervision and annual performance evaluation of DSPs.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring and support in service delivery areas such as communication and networking.
  • Review and facilitate staff training to ensure compliance with DDA and agency training requirements.
  • Available to provide on-call support to DSPs.
  • Collaborate with QE and HR to support staff meetings, investigations, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Complete monthly employee rounding and report results to the Program Manager.
  • Attend nursing 45-day review in assigned locations and complete review responses within two weeks of receiving.
  • Maintain and submit required reports and documentation promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with Person Centered Plans and implement them fully.
  • Schedule staff according to Individual Plans (IPs) and monitor house activity schedules.
  • Provide advocacy for supported people based on personal choice.
  • Identify informal community supports for supported people.
  • Keep accurate records, case files, and medical records of supported people.
  • Facilitates team meetings and family conferences to problem solve and develop plans of action as needed.
  • Maintain communication with relevant stakeholders throughout the day.
  • Ensure completion and documentation of all medical and clinical appointments.
  • Keep houses within budgeted expenditures and develop programming to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Monitor and support individuals in managing Personal Use Funds (PUF) accounts.
  • Limit staff overtime through efficient staffing and scheduling practices.
  • Provide direct support to supported people as necessary.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned, including special projects and cross-program development.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • One to two (1-2) years of experience in the human services field; Residential or Personal Support preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory or peer training experience in a Residential environment.
  • High School Diploma required. Associates (AA) or Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degrees preferred.
  • AA may substitute for two (2) years of human services experience. BA/BS may substitute for four (4) human services years of experience.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Additional Requirements:

  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Active valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and no more than two (2) points.
  • Maintain proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Maintenance of all required trainings under DDA guidelines and The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility of scheduling to meet agency and program needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday
  • Weekends as needed
