The Arc Of Union County is Hiring a Supervisor, Day Behavioral Health (RBT) Near Springfield, NJ

Summary: The Arc of Union County Inc. is a leading provider of Person Centered services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Adult Day Services programming. Under the supervision of Assistant Director, Day Behavioral Health, the Supervisor, Day Behavioral Health is responsible for providing hands-on evidence-based Behavioral intervention services for improving challenging behaviors to adults with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders and other associated comorbidities. Registered Behavior Technicians are responsible for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based programs as directed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Supervisor, Day Behavioral Health with a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Skills:

  • This position requires Proficiency in Windows software, Ability to use data entry software such as Therap, Ability to complete Shift and Individual Served ISP Data entry in web based electronic platform.
  • This position requires excellent interpersonal and conceptual skills. Proficiency in all areas of service listed herein. Strong management, leadership, planning and communication skills required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in related field required.
  • Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) Certification required; Experience in Day Habilitation Program required.
  • One-year programmatic supervisory experience, plus three years working with individuals with developmental disabilities; thorough knowledge, abilities and skills as outlined above.
  • Knowledgeable in all standards of DDD, CMS, CARF, CQL, Day Habilitation Certification and other external regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and sense of humor; demonstrated ability to thrive and perform in an ever-changing, fast paced and demanding environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of aBCBA, the Supervisor, Day Behavioral Health is responsible for implementing behavioral programming in assigned settings.
  • Supervisor, Day Behavioral Health follow the BCBA’s therapeutic protocols for positively reinforcing desirable actions for skill improvement of service recipients.
  • Direct one-on-one behavioral interventions to teach communication, social, and daily living skills, and reduce problematic behaviors in assigned settings.
  • Prompt safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills as indicated.
  • Increase the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate behaviors by promoting effective behavioral strategies.
  • Develop strategies to assist the individuals in reaching their desired outcomes as specified in the Individual Service Plan (ISP) under the oversight of a BCBA.
  • Train staff on Individual Behavior Support Plans (IBSPs) and data collection promptly and solely by as a Behavior Specialist under the oversight of the supervising BCBA.
  • Follow the behavioral service plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment, and seek out appropriate consultation.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide effective behavioral supports without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment as indicated.
  • Complete Behavioral Assessments, Implement Behaviors on the ISPs, monitor plans and complete case notes consistently.
  • Collaborate with all support personnel in care planning. Support the Support Professional, Day Behavioral Health personnel as required.
