Title: Vice President, Business Development

First Look:
As the VP, Business Development, your time would be dedicated to managing current commercial and content relationships, sourcing new partnerships, identifying new platforms and revenue producing opportunities for The Arena Group. Your role is key in our content acquisition and distribution strategy; and revenue driving goals, helping manage business operations in conjunction with the product and publisher operations teams. You will report directly to SVP, Business Development for all of Arena and interface with various GMs across the Arena businesses.
The Arena Group’s expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $190,000 - $230,000 USD. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group’s total compensation and benefits available to its employees.

This is a full-time, hybrid position that requires at least three days per week in our lovely Midtown Manhattan office. What You’ll Do:
Work cross-functionally across business, editorial, sales, product, social and legal departments to identify, analyze, and develop new opportunities to maximize Arena new revenue opportunities.
Lead partner relationships with key commerce, content and distribution platforms, extend, re-negotiate third party content, licensing and vendor deals in partnership with other department leads to support new and existing lines of business.
Monitor KPIs tied to traffic, revenue optimization and audience engagement.
Present ideas and strategies to the leadership team on creative revenue producing initiatives, which may include new partnerships, technologies, and seasonality trends.
Prepare and create presentations to internal and external parties regarding the performance of BD efforts.
Prepare monthly traffic and financial performance and pacing reports for leadership, and fulfill ad-hoc reporting needs in a timely and efficient manner.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, MBA or equivalent is a plus
Minimum of ten years of experience in business development or marketing/sales, with at least five years related to digital publishing, ecommerce or content acquisition.
Passion for the digital media space, and the ability to be self-motivated, multitask, and function in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
Strong attention to detail, the ability to problem solve, a genuine interest in studying data, and can effectively communicate informative findings to his or her team.
Proven track record of working cross-functionally across multiple departments with strong project management skills
A deep understanding of affiliate data KPIs and synthesizing data into actionable insights.
Competency in Microsoft suite of tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the Google Suite equivalent
Robust and competent public speaking skills with the ability to present to small and large groups
Comfortability in a performance-based role where securing new revenue is critical to achieving the team’s objectives.
Proactive and thorough in outreach to partners, with proven negotiation skills and extensive experience reviewing contract language.
