The Senior Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for organizing and supervising all construction operations on assigned projects or assigned areas of larger projects. This position is responsible for becoming knowledgeable with all contract documents, budgets, construction drawings and specifications and schedules to thoroughly understand the scope of work to be accomplished. The Senior Mechanical Superintendent must ensure that all vendors, subcontractors and materials are available and onsite at the proper times. The Senior Mechanical Superintendent coordinates with all subordinate level superintendents and/or field construction staffing assigned in order to ensure proper planning, coordination and communication of all site activities. The Senior Mechanical Superintendent ensures that all daily reports and other field documentation, required for historical reference, are accurate and input into the project management software. Periodic inspections of the work being accomplished are required to ascertain work is being accomplished according to the contract and to limit scope creep and to control costs. This position creates daily progress reports and assists other departments in the preparation of reports concerning the status of fieldwork.
Requirements
  • 10 to 15 years' experience in large Industrial/Aerospace ground up projects.
  • Heavy experience with HVAC, Process and Plumbing Systems with knowledge of equipment, materials and installations.
  • Excellent ability to read/interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Experience in Clean Room and Semiconductor projects preferred.
  • Procore Experience Required.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or construction management is a plus.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
  • Frequently Work in a loud environment.
  • Frequently Work outdoors in high and low temperatures.
  • Occasionally may work in high and/or precarious places.
  • Occasionally work indoors.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel.
  • Must be able to travel to and work at the project site, this travel may be up to 100%.
SummaryEssential Functions

  • Oversight, direction and managing daily field installations and schedule of Mechanical Subcontractors for major Semiconductor and Clean Room Aerospace projects.
  • QA/QC of Mechanical Installations.
  • Managing field communications, daily huddles and scheduling of all Mechanical System Installations.
  • Add the necessary detail to the Project Schedule to ensure milestones are met.
  • Maintain and update the Project Schedule.
  • Ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the contract documents, within the schedule, and at the lowest possible cost to produce a satisfied client
  • Develop good relations with clients and their representatives to ensure their satisfaction and to promote additional or future work.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with subcontractors to ensure the orderly and efficient execution of subcontracted work.
  • Coordinate and Communicate field activities with Engineering, Estimating, Purchasing and Accounting Departments through ProMIS to allow for expeditious completion of the project.
  • Assist all departments in the preparation and updating of reports required to inform Region/Division management and the client as to the current status of the project.
  • Promote safety in all construction operations to limit or eliminate accidents on the project.
