Lead, Blending Description POSITION SUMMARY The Blending Lead, under the direction of the Blending Supervisor and/or Blending Manager, will be responsible for guiding Blend Techs in the daily operation of the blending department according to standard operating procedures. The incumbent will display a commitment to AZEK Core Values. Provides technical guidance and support to Blend Techs
Maintains and monitors material levels using blending software and HMI's
Makes decisions as needed regarding material distribution
Verifies blending recipes match work orders and raw materials pass quality specifications
Communicates with production personnel to ensure timely delivery of quality blended product
Facilitates raw material movement from railcars, trailers, dry vans, racking, etc. to designated locations
Completes inventory counts of raw material and updates necessary reports
Performs quality checks on incoming raw material
Orders, transacts, and releases raw materials
Ensures cleanliness standards are upheld
Participates in area 6S audit implementation and reviews
Assists Blending Supervisor and/or Blending Manager with employee performance reviews
Coordinates and facilitates in Blend Tech training
Performs Blend Tech duties as necessary and models adherence to SOPs
Monitors activities of Blend Techs and redirects as needed
Assists in continuous improvement projects within blending
Distributes blending alerts when complications arise
Aids in creating, reviewing, and updating SOPs
Updates and communicates department metrics for People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
Executes equipment repairs during preventative maintenance, unscheduled downtime, and equipment upgrades
Fulfills all tasks with positive attitude and team player mentality
Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by Blending Supervisor and/or Blending Manager
SKILLS & ABILITIES Education:High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Advanced education and/or related certification(s), a plus Experience:One to three years in a similar position Computer Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Certifications & Licenses:Forklift Certification Other Requirements:Experience with mechanical equipment (rotary airlocks, diverter valves, Mac valves, knife gates, etc) a plus; Demonstrated leadership skills Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment; Work schedule flexibility, with advanced notice, to accommodate needs of the department.
