Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Coordinate with accounting team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reports.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering relevant financial information and assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- Work closely with department heads to understand spending patterns and forecast future financial needs.
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, member billing, and payroll activities.
- Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management as needed.
- Assist in financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Assist in developing and implementing internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as necessary.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 5 years in a similar capacity.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software, NorthStar, MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- This position typically operates in a professional office environment.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines or during peak periods.
