Schedule: Part-time 20-25 hours per week
Rotational shifts; to include options of Monday through Friday 2:30 pm until 6:30 pm, 6:00 am until 1:00 pm, or 8:00 am until 1:00 pm, plus rotating weekends. Additional shift differential offered for hours worked on the weekendPay: $14.00- $16.00 based on years of relevant experience Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 1 year experience as a Diet Aide, catering or bulk cooking experience preferred.
- Must be able to handle all aspects of food preparation and use of kitchen equipment.
- Professional school experience preferred.
- Must hold a valid Norfolk Food Handler’s Certificate, Servsafe Certification preferred.
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to push/pull a food cart which may exceed 200 pounds
- Must hold a high standard of personal hygiene and accepted sanitary procedures
- Prepare meals from menus planned by the Director or Production Manager.
- Prepare and decorate residential cakes for all dorms.
- Maintain inventory and prepare menus for special functions as ordered by Department Managers or Dorms.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitization of all work areas and inventory supplies for department.
- Follow USDA Food Program, Norfolk Health and Fire Department compliance.
