The Battier Take Charge Foundation is Hiring a Director of Finance And Operations Near Charlotte, NC

Position Overview: The Finance & Operations Director oversees day-to-day operations at the Battier Take Charge Foundation. This role involves managing team members, maintaining organizational policies, overseeing financial operations, and supporting various initiatives to advance the foundation's goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management:

  • Create and maintain organizational budgets, collaborating with the Executive Director and Director of Philanthropic Impact.
  • Assist with financial reporting and communication with accountants and bookkeepers.
  • Provide financial information for compliance and reporting purposes.

Vendor & Contract Management:

  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee contract negotiations to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Infrastructure Development:

  • Assess current operational infrastructure and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement new systems and processes to support organizational growth.
  • Ensure the integration of technology solutions to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

System Implementation:

  • Collaborate with IT and other relevant departments to implement new software and tools.
  • Oversee the deployment of financial management systems to enhance budgeting, reporting, and
  • compliance.
  • Train staff on new systems and ensure proper usage and adherence to protocols.

Company Operations:

  • Implement internal policies and best practices to support staff and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead weekly staff meetings and facilitate key discussions.
  • Provide expertise to advise on various organizational matters.
  • Oversee the implementation of new technologies and tools to streamline operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including nonprofit-specific requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing systems and processes, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure the foundation remains at the forefront of operational efficiency and financial management.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Philanthropic Impact in preparing reports for donors and board members.
  • Manage aspects of donor and board events.
  • Undertake miscellaneous projects as needed.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, donors, and community leaders.
  • Represent the foundation at public events, conferences, and meetings as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Non-profit Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience and proven experience in financial management and operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with non-profit organizations and philanthropic principles preferred.
  • Experience in strategic planning and project management.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
  • High level of discretion and integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Quickbooks, CRM systems.

WORK LOCATION & ENVIRONMENT

  • Location: Position is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Must be local, no reimbursement for moving costs.
  • Work Environment: Office setting with potential for some remote work and occasional travel as needed.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods, use of standard office equipment, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
