The Financial Analyst supports Finance and Brand leadership through the development of the annual budget, reforecast, and create meaningful and timely analyses to support and improve the business. The Financial Analyst will serve as a key liaison with Oxford corporate accounting. This role will be relied on to support business strategies, provide input on financial processes and highlight risks and opportunities while support Finance leadership. The Financial Analyst will develop financial models, collect and evaluate data, analyze results, and make recommendations to support a wide variety of business decisions including operational investments, inventory, product margin, sales, etc. Budgeting, Reforecasting, and Business Planning: Serve as lead role supporting parent company accounting function during monthly/quarterly/annual close processes, as well as ad-hoc accounting requests and requirements. Support the business in developing the company’s annual budget process, development of strategic plans (1, 3, 5 years) and presentations to parent company. Prepare quarterly/annual financial budgets, reforecast reports and schedules to management and parent company. Monitor weekly/monthly progress against functional budgets, results and targets and work with business leads to ensure accountability. Work with leaders within the business to understand actuals, explain variances and tracking action plans to bring financial results back to plan. Prepare and distribute accurate, timely and insightful financial analysis of pertinent information to determine progress against strategic plan, budget, forecast, and to support business decisions. Contribute to the strategic direction of the business by providing insightful analysis to explain trends within month end reporting, budgets and forecasts and identify value creating opportunities. Assist and review the continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, operating planning and modeling tools/processes. Financial reporting and modeling: Develop models or reporting tools that improve the organization’s ability to achieve financial targets through data driven decisions that provide visibility to business profitability in all operational areas including sales, design, inventory, product development, manufacturing partnerships, etc. Prepare and maintain the retail pro forma model for the brand Prepare benchmarking for and monitor margins, SG&A and other company metrics. Partner with wholesale, retail/signature store, and ecommerce on sales projections and comp analysis to confirm reasonableness. Prepare and analyze sales reports in order to identify and communicate trends. Track and evaluate margin attainment each season and work closely with the Product team on scenario plans to improve margins. Understand and communicate the impact of gross margin changes, the markdown cadence and inventory levels as they affect reforecasts. Prepare benchmarking for and monitor margins, SG&A and other company metrics. You will love this job if you: Enjoy working in a team driven environment as well as independently to complete daily expectations Comfortable problem solving, gathering data, and effectively present complicated information Appreciate detailed documentation and prioritize effectively to meet aggressive deadlines An analytical thinker with a desire to understand all aspects of The Beaufort Bonnet Business Are a strong communicator (oral and written) and presenter Who we would like to meet: BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major Advanced degree preferred 4 years of accounting and financial planning and analysis Excellent computer skills, including MS Office (with advanced Excel), as well as Visio and Access Experience with ERP Financial Systems (SAP preferred) Experience with inventory costing and inventory management preferred Excellent understanding and experience with budgeting, financial and reporting systems Expert analytical skills and good attention to detail Ability to multi-task and quickly switch between open projects Experience managing and manipulating large amounts of complex data What happens next?
