Communication Specialist

Location: Hybrid - Minnesota
Employment Type: 20 hours per week, Part-time/Contract
Salary: 29.41 per hour

The Beautywell Project is committed to ending colorism, skin-lightening practices, and chemical exposures. Our mission is to help individuals live a healthy lifestyle and embrace their identity and culture. We are located in Minneapolis, MN, with flexibility for some remote work.

Job Summary:
As a Communication Specialist at the Beautywell Project, you will be a key player in our communication strategy. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of communication, including public relations, media relations, social media management, and content creation. Your role will involve crafting compelling messages, developing press releases, and maintaining the company's brand voice across various platforms.

Duties:
- Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the company's public image
- Create engaging content for press releases, website, social media, and other communication channels
- Manage media relations by building and maintaining relationships with journalists and influencers
- Conduct proofreading and editing of all communication materials to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Utilize strong public speaking skills to represent the company at events, conferences, and media interviews
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of messaging and branding
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communication and journalism

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Public health or related fields
- Proven experience in public relations, media relations, or related roles
- Excellent writing skills
- Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms
- Strong ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Experience in crafting press releases and managing media inquiries
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $29.41 per hour
