Job DetailsJob Location Chaska - Chaska, MN Position Type Full Time Job Category Design Description Summary The Berg Group is looking for a Designer III to join our team! This role will work closely with our design and estimating team, using applicable design software, work both independently and on teams to produce an accurate and timely virtual representation of The Berg Group’s relevant project scope. This person will be directly responsible for documenting and coordinating construction models for various projects nationwide. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large, complex projects and be able to multi-task and collaborate with several technical disciplines. Essential Functions Primary Responsibilities/Duties
Researches and identifies project-appropriate architectural requirements
Performs BIM modeling and detailing of appropriate scope of work
Prepare shop drawings and cut sheet submittals for approval by General Contractor and Project Architect
Participates in cross-discipline discussions and coordination with multidisciplinary teammates
Assists to conduct site investigations and observations
Assists to prepare narratives, architectural graphics, design presentations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, related to project schedule and budget constraints
Responsible for clash-detection and coordination between disciplines and other project stakeholders.
Directly responsible for the coordination model produced by the Design Team, Trade Contractors, and other third-party vendors under their direction.
Work with engineers, trades, and design professionals to develop an integrated model delivery approach and lead clash detection sessions with a focus on optimizing the construction process and driving quality and value.
Introduce, support, and oversee the implementation of industry leading BIM and collaboration technologies.
Travel for project related activities relative to existing building assessments/investigations, client meetings, or construction jobsite observations may be required
Attends client meetings and communicates with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various states of project development.
Qualifications Experience and Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Technical Degree in Architectural Drafting.
10-15 years related experience: detailed sketching, 3D modeling and drafting
Working Knowledge of Interior Wall Partitions and Materials
Proficient in Applicable software such as Revit and DiRTT’s ICE Software
Aptitude for computer software: especially 3D design software.
The ability to read construction documents, drawings and specifications, and input field dimensions
Time management and organization skills with the ability to become involved in and remain current on issues relating to a number of projects in various stages
Demonstrated ability to develop awareness and begin to lead team coordination of contract documents
Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills required
Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field from an accredited College/University
Knowledge of Software: Sketch-Up, Bluebeam Revu, ICE, Microsoft Products
In-depth knowledge of Traditional and Non-Traditional Interior and Exterior Wall Details and Materials
Sedentary Work
