The Biltmore Company is Hiring a Manager 3rd shift Near Asheville, NC

Job Description

The 3rd Shift Destination Housekeeping Manager will develop and implement cleaning schedules and manage staff in the following areas : Antler Hill Village, Winery, RTC, all restaurants, and cleaning in ancillary buildings estate wide.

The incumbent will be primarily responsible for inspecting the quality of cleanliness and will work with staff to ensure quality standards are met.

Other duties will include, but are not limited to : performance management and development for staff; quality control; budgeting and fiscal administration;

ensuring collection care and safety guidelines are met; and general assistance and support for the department and company.

They will also provide support to any evening functions or special occasions during 3rd shift.

Essential Job Duties :

1. Manage the budget for personnel and supplies.

2. Formulates plans for improving Attendant programs and standards.

4. Recommends and initiates the purchase of cleaning equipment pertinent to the Facilities Department.

5. Trains staff on standards and procedures and performs inspections to verify quality.

6. Recommends changes of layout and location of equipment to facilitate cleaning of various areas.

7. Establishes procedures and work methods.

8. Initiates and maintains the records of all personnel and productivity records. 9. Maintain professional and positive inter-departmental working relationships.

10. Directs supervision of front line employees.

11. Assist in the delegations of duties for all facilities staff.

12. Directs the maintenance and repairs of all department equipment.

13. Initiates and directs training programs.

14. Assists in evaluation of Destination Housekeeping personnel.

15. Ensure, staff are abiding by all safety rules and regulations OSHA compliance

16. Meets collection management manual requirements.

17. Prevent accidents and promote Safety and Fire Prevention. Stay up to date on latest Safety Requirements.

18. Position must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and represent our department well.

19. Build relationships with tenants in all facilities

20. Assist with execution of estate events.

21. Work with other departments to cleanup after flooding, renovations, and construction across the estate.

22. Hire and counsel employees.

23. Complete weekly time sheets for hourly personnel.

Qualifications :

1. High school diploma or GED. Additional training, education, and / or certification(s) strongly preferred.

2. At least four (4) years of related experience in facilities maintenance, housekeeping, or similar field. Previous experience working in upscale properties / facilities with an emphasis on quality standards is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will have also had experience working in historic buildings and structures.

3. Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, best practices, and methodologies; experience handling and cleaning historic objects preferred.

4. Experience managing budgets, purchasing, and / or inventory control strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be familiar with fiscal administration for a commercial cleaning operation.

5. Familiarity with operation and use of commercial grade cleaning equipment and proper use of chemical supplies and cleaning compounds.

6. Demonstrated leadership skills and / or prior formal supervisory or management experience.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to learn budgeting and procurement software / systems required.

8. Proven commitment to quality and delivering world class service, and the ability to motivate staff to do the same.

9. Outstanding planning, organizational, and project and time management skills with a superior attention to detail and focus on quality.

10. Strong interpersonal and interpersonal skills; must be able to develop and maintain positive, professional working relationships across the company.

11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to effective convey information clearly, concisely, and effectively to many different audiences.

12. Ability to be proactive and take initiative is a must; should be able to exercise good judgment and represent the company in professional manner at all times.

13. Should be comfortable and adept at anticipating issues and troubleshooting as needed.

Physical Requirements :

1. Good manual dexterity.

2. Ability to operate standard transmission vehicles.

3. Ability to respond to mental demands; moderate in scope; however instant, frequent and varied.

4. Prolonged standing / or walking, and climbing stairs.

5. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach overhead, and kneel.

6. Ability to work indoor and outdoor in all types of extreme weather

7. Good eyesight and hearing to be able to visually identify issues

8. Climb to heights of 60 feet or more using scaffolding

9. Must be able to work in areas with exposure to chemicals, dirt, pollen, etc.

10. Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds.
