International broker dealer with headquarter in NYC is looking for Associate - VP level candidates to join their Insurance credit risk team.

Job Description

• Provide coverage of mainly insurance companies (P&C, Life&Health, Reinsurers, etc.) and sponsor backed insurance brokers; will cover some RIA platforms, and specialty finance companies as needed

• Prepare and recommend high quality credit submissions relating to new business proposals.

• Conduct appropriate market, industry and client credit analysis with clearly articulated recommendations on credit decisions

• Work closely with other product groups, including Treasury Sales and Trading, Cash Management, Trade Finance and other business areas to ensure that credit needs are being met.

• Ongoing monitoring of Counterparty performance and credit exposures, including compliance with authorized credit limits and terms, as well as reporting requirements.

• Identify potential problems requiring attention and recommend appropriate actions to best manage the risks in deteriorating credit situations.

• Contribute to a strong credit culture of the Credit team by raising issues on credit, reputational and operational risks.

• Ensure that credit arrangements adequately balance the risk and return.

• Structure and negotiate documentation.

Job Requirements

• Product knowledge of derivatives, foreign exchange, repo, securities lending, custody, clearing, cash management, syndicated and bilateral loans.

• Working knowledge of documentation including ISDA/CSAs, MSLA, GMRA, Loan Agreements, Clearing and Custodial Agreements.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of insurance credit or related experience

• A solid understanding of capital markets as well as the inherent market and credit risks

• Strong financial/analytical skills

• Excellent communications abilities and well-developed writing proficiency

• Adept at working effectively in a team environment

• Series 7, 63 & 79 (or to be obtained upon hire)

Compensation dependent on experience.
