Our client, a well-known international Energy Trading firm, is seeking to bring on a dynamic Sr. Energy Operations Analyst on their team in NY.

Main Responsibilities:

• Daily support of transaction life cycle:
• Confirmation of OTC transactions (Paper-based and eConfirm platform)
• Invoicing and settlement of OTC transactions, ISO positions, Load Supply
• Liaising with Power Scheduling Team as needed
• Regulatory reporting of OTC transactions
• Reconciliation of futures transactions and positions
• Providing Operations requirements for, testing, and implementing new products and trading system enhancements
• Review and approval of complex transactions
• Set up and maintain Reference Data and fees for counterparties, exchanges, FCMs, brokers
• Challenge existing Operations processes, suggesting improvements to reduce operational risk and to improve workflows
• Support transaction surveillance processes
• Assist the front office with KYC requirements
• Close working relationship with internal departments: i.e. Senior Management, Front Office teams, Technology, Quants, Accounting/Finance, Legal/Compliance, etc. - providing them with appropriate Operational & Trade Support.
• Collaboration within the Firm and its parent company overseas to support the U.S. and Global Business

Education and Professional Experience:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; preferably in a related area of study.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience within the Operations and/or Middle Office team at a trading and sales business within in the Commodities Services Industry (Energy preferred)

Professional Areas of Expertise:

• Knowledge of physical and financial commodities markets
• Knowledge of products traded (Futures, Forwards, Swaps, Options, Load, FTRs)
• Experience in trade confirmations, invoicing/settlements, Transactional Regulatory Reporting, ISO invoice reconciliations
• Experience in testing trading system rollouts and enhancements

• Able to understand the needs of various functions such as Trading, Origination, Quant, Legal
• Strong analytical skills for fast problem solving, innovative and solution focused
