Senior Project Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW: The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a project, as well as mentoring multiple Project Managers and Engineers. It is the responsibility of the Senior Project Manager to supervise and coordinate single or multiple projects to complete the work on time, within the budget and to the quality specified, while serving as BOWA Construction’s representative. The Senior Project Manager is ultimately responsible for project success, client satisfaction and financial performance.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a high-performance team through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensure regular feedback is shared with staff including timely completion of employee performance appraisals.
  • Foster and enhance owner, architect, subcontractor, and vendor relations.
  • Establish, update, and communicate Master Project Schedule and manage its implementation.
  • Work with the preconstruction team in the development of projects.
  • Develop project schedules execute accurate and concise contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and job specific scope.
  • Coordinate project controls with the Owner and design team.
  • Understand the cost report including different contract types, ETC, General conditions, ROL, and fee analysis.
  • Incorporate knowledge into procedures to preempt cost & scheduling issues.
  • Provide jobsite leadership in safety and quality.
  • Administer BOWA’s contract and subcontract agreements.
  • Develop various contracts with owners and subcontractors based on requirements.
  • Manage budget and financial reporting, interpret, and analyze reports to ensure adherence to project budget.
  • Manage the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) Program.
  • Manage and oversee field operation and engineering processes and procedures.
  • Drive competencies to team on requirements for insurance, labor relations, and employee relations
  • Lead the enforcement of safety protocols by the project staff.
  • Work with Accounting to initiate Pay Application process and follow up to ensure payment is received in a timely manner.
  • Keep leadership team informed on progress of project and budget.
  • Support business development efforts.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Educational and experience requirements include: BS OR MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management. 
  • 10-15 years in the lead role on projects valued at $20-100 million or larger. 
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to communicate and read trade contracts, owner contracts, lump sum contracts, and CM contracts. Capacity to bring strong Owner/Architect contacts based on strong working relationships. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to book repeat clients based on superb project work and interactions. 
  • Comfortable in learning and using new software programs. 
  • Strong technical and communication skills are critical. Ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Proficient in Procore. 
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office. 
  • Previous experience in using On-Screen Takeoffs. 
  • Adept at Bluebeam. 
  • Competent in Sage.
