Hiring Bonus: $3,500
Compensation Ranges:
  • Bachelor's level Social Worker/Counselor: $50,000 - $60,000 (Based on relevant experience)
  • Master's level Social Worker/Counselor: $55,000 - 70,000 (Based on relevant experience)

The Buckeye Ranch is currently seeking an Intensive Home-Based Counselor/ Social Worker to join our Community Based IHBT program! The Intensive Home-Based Counselor / Social Worker empowers youth and their families to overcome dynamics that put youth at risk for being removed from their homes. The programs provide a variety of intensity of mental health interventions to our most at need clients in the community. Learn more about IHBT HERE
Schedule: Full-time, Exempt (Mon-Fri, 9a - 5p) Some evenings required
Location: Whitehall, OH (Community travel required)
What you'll do:
  • Identifies history of trauma, adversity and/or toxic stress that influence presenting problem(s),
    functioning, and family interaction styles. Determines the level of immediate and future risk of abuse or neglectto children.
  • Identifies cultural factors that influence strengths, functioning, and family interaction styles for both the family and client for utilization of treatment.
  • Adapts services, including evidence-based inter-professional team approaches, to the language, cultural norms, and individual preferences of healthcare consumers and family members.
  • Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement. Identify and determine the need for more intensive or specialized services, and complete referrals for more appropriate services internal or external programming.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, scheduled team meetings and bi-weekly large group supervision. Must contact supervisor if unable to keep these meetings.
  • Schedule and conduct therapeutic counseling sessions with individuals, families and treatment teams basedon cases assigned and at the established acuity for each family. Appointments must be made at times that families can participate; evening work is expected. Work with supervisor to adjust acuity when the needs of the families change.
  • Take appropriate initiatives to manage crisis situations(including but not limited to suicidal/homicidal, threats to self or others, etc.), implementing , including direct client intervention and face to face assessment, gathering information from client and their natural support system, obtaining assistance (or providing assistance as the case may be), staying with a crisis situation until it is resolved, or relief is provided and filing incident reports with designated individuals and agencies on a timely basis.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention on call as assigned and all duties related to crises while maintaining model consistency.
  • Prepare and submit all required reports and documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, behavior management programs and discharge planning on an accurate and timely basis. Progress notes for each day, due at the latest Midnight the day after the service is provided.
Who you are:
  • You have a bachelor's degree in social work, or related field (master's preferred)
  • You have an active Ohio LSW, LPC, or MFT license
  • You preferably have previous work experience as a Social Worker, Counselor, Therapist, or Clinician.
  • You have an active Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
