HR Generalist Ministry: Administration Primary Office: 200 N Glebe Rd, Arlington VAHours per Week: 40Telework Available: Hybrid (1-2 days after training) Starting annual salary: $65,100 (exempt) Position Description:The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will play a key role on a small HR team, providing internal operations and support to managers, supervisors and front-line staff on a wide variety of HR functions. The HR Generalist will provide support in, but not limited to, recruiting and onboarding, off-boarding. employee relations, performance management, training/development and HRIS data entry. The HR Generalist must be effective in building strong relationships across the organization. Position Responsibilities:Recruiting and Onboarding: Oversee the recruiting process to include job requisition approvals, advertising, interviewing, reference/background checks and offers. Manages the pre-boarding and onboarding process for new hires. Wok with hiring managers to develop recruiting and onboarding plans. Conduct 30, 60, 90-day check-ins with new hires and managersEmployee Development and Training: Provide coaching and training on a variety of topics as needed.Performance Management: Assist with performance management, annual job descriptions review process and providing guidance to managers and employees on the process.Talent Management: Work with managers on the promotion/job change process and prepare all necessary paperwork (change forms/personnel action forms)Employee Relations Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.Benefits and Leave Administration: Provide guidance and answer employee inquiries on all benefit and leave plans.Policy and Compliance: Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain complianceOff-Boarding: Conduct exit interview and manages the off-boarding process to include benefit information.Other Duties:Employee Safety, Welfare and Health: Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations.Collaborate on HR initiatives/projects.Serves as the primary point of contact for HRIS/ATS systems administration.Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Qualifications & Skills:Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skillsStrong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, benefits, pension and compensation plans, training and development and PC skills (HRMS/Dayforce and MS Office) Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining confidentiality and following policy and procedureAbility to maintain confidentiality Ability to successfully work within a highly collaborative team environment is essentialWillingness to take on multiple projectsWillingness to uphold Catholic Moral & Social Teaching in the workplace Education and Experience:A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management, or a related field. HR certification preferred.3 years of experience in Human Resources preferably in a non-profit setting. Physical Demands:Sitting for periods of time and some light lifting up to 25 lbs.
