With 50 locations and 100 programs in NYC’s most under-served communities, our 1,000 results-oriented professionals make a difference for more than 40,000 children and their families each year. In this role you will: The Maintenance/Building Supervisor is responsible for the total maintenance of the building in accordance with regulatory standards. What qualifications do you need:Responsible for the general cleanliness and sanitation of the facility as well as the safety and well-being of the residents and facility structure and its contents.Responsible for meeting and maintaining regulatory and company safety standards.Keep the building in a clean and orderly condition by examining the building on a regular basis for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness.Perform or arrange for general building and fixture repairs.Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Ability to build a strong team, including performing skill assessments and developing training plans for staff.Report any unusual conditions or malfunction of heating/cooling, plumbing and electrical systems or any other incidents.Responsible for key maintenance and other security systems.Makes estimates of labor and/or materials for repair or new construction.Assists in planning repair/renovation projects.Oversees and coordinates work with outside contractors.Responsible for the ordering and inventory control of maintenance supplies.Responsible for garbage and refuse disposal.Supervise maintenance of landscaping and upkeep of grounds equipment.Other duties as needed.Supervisory Responsibilities:Supervise maintenance staff, housekeeping, and outside contractors.Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.Minimum Qualifications:·High School Diploma or equivalency.·10 years construction and repair experience.·Knowledge in electrical, plumbing, plaster, painting, door hardware, and general maintenance.·7 years experience with supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff.·Previous maintenance experience in a residential treatment facility preferred.What we can do for you:· Professional development & career growth.· Work that makes a difference and impact your community.· Experienced leadership and supervision towards license/certifications.We also offer· Generous Paid Time Off · Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance · Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)· 401k Pension and Employer Contribution · Flexible Spending and Commuter Benefits Accounts· Employer paid short-term & long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance · Commuter Benefits· Employee Assistance Program The Child Center of NY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
