Position Summary:

The Program Director is responsible for case management, treatment planning, implementation of treatment interventions and discharge planning for all the children in the EDT Program.

The Program Director is responsible for carrying out the treatment philosophy of the Agency and has a significant role in shaping that philosophy as a member of the Management Team. The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the admission process, the development of the treatment plan including discharge planning and the coordination of treatment for each child in the program. The employee is also responsible for ensuring an appropriate therapeutic milieu and safe environment conducive to the treatment of the children in the EDT Program. The Program Director is expected to work closely with the EDT Program Supervisor in managing the daily operations of the program.

This individual is responsible for the hiring, training, and scheduling of Clinicians, Program Supervisors and Direct Care Workers. In addition, the employee is responsible for ensuring the appropriate training, coaching and supervision for these employees including progressive discipline if necessary.

In carrying out the above responsibilities, the Program Director interacts with all administrative and treatment staff, as well as numerous outside agencies and other professionals, DCF, physicians, hospitals, and private consultants. The Program Director is responsible to the Vice President for Community Services. This individual is expected to perform other duties.

Schedule:

The Program Director is expected to work 37.5 hours per week.

  • School Year Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
  • Summer Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Experience & Qualifications:

Licensure in a Clinical field required (E.g. LCSW, LMFT).

Five or more years of post-graduate clinical experience in child and adolescent field. Knowledge of programming related specifically to working with youth with developmental and psychiatric disabilities and/or behavioral disorders. Knowledge and ability to implement trauma sensitive treatment approaches.

Strong diagnostic, clinical and supervisory skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively. The ability to implement and oversee a treatment team model. Good interpersonal skills.
