The Children's Center for Neurodevelopmental Studies, in historic downtown Glendale, is looking for Teacher Assistants / Paraprofessionals / Behavioral Techs to assist in our classrooms as we start school on July 29, 2024. We are an award-winning private school that serves children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. We are looking for candidates who have worked with special needs children with behaviors before. The ideal candidate will be motivated and physically capable (can lift over 45 lbs. and be able to move comfortably) to work with high behavioral individuals. Special needs experience is preferred. Must love children and have patience. Our School Shifts, which include van support are from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, or 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Pay starts at $16.50 p/h or more based on experience. In addition, you may qualify for an extra $2.00 per hour bonus (explained during interview).

Duties include: Providing support services under the direct supervision of qualified Special Education Teachers. Assisting teachers in planning and preparing materials for activities. Implementing therapeutic programs under the direction of our therapists. Implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans with our Behavior Specialists. Assisting students with personal care issues, hygiene, social interactions, and behaviors. This role is also known as an instructional assistant, teacher’s aide or behavioral tech.

Requirements:

Must have a current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (required), must have a High School diploma or GED, must be 18 years of age, must pass a background check, must be able to pass a drug test, have a CPR/First Aid card, Arizona State Driver’s license, have three written letters of reference, and be willing to get training on Crisis Prevention and Intervention “CPI” (we can assist with training).
