The Children's Community Head Start program is looking to hire a full-time substitute teacher to work with our Infant and Toddler Teachers in our Early Head Start Program in our Ronkonkoma location. A substitute teaching position can lead to a full-time teaching position with enrollment in CDA, which we assist with the registration process. Responsibilities include providing daily supervision and assist the teacher to promote health, nutrition, and education of children through developmentally appropriate activities. Additional responsibilities include attending all assigned meetings, trainings, and appropriate professional development activities. Candidates must have a High School Diploma.
EHS Teachers are co-teaching positions (2 lead Teachers : 8 children), M-F , 8:00 am-4:00 pm. Teachers are responsible to plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate activities for young children, screen children for developmental delays, assess and track progress towards developmental goals, and parent engagement. Tuition and retirement are offered after 1 year of employment. Spanish language bilingual a plus but not required.
Skills:
- Preschool or childcare experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Infant and Toddler development and understanding of early childhood education practices
- Ability to work with diverse populations, including students with autism or special needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Knowledge of OCFS Regulations
- Flexibility and adaptability to different classroom environments

Pay: $16.00 - $17.91 per hour
