The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Hiring a Paid Intern - Purchasing Team Near Salt Lake, UT
Job DescriptionThis position is designed primarily for educational and religious purposes, supplying valuable learning experience for the intern. It aims to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application. Under general supervision, the intern will be integral to the Church's Purchasing Division team, actively supporting various Church initiatives, including Welfare, Humanitarian, and Bishop's Central Storehouse. The role will involve collaboration with essential suppliers and internal business units, contributing to the mission of supplying gospel teachings, resources, and services to God's children. During the internship, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with suppliers, solve tactical and strategic challenges, analyze data, and coordinate with operations partners to ensure the smooth operation of our businesses.
ResponsibilitiesRoles and responsibilities may vary based on department needs, and the intern will receive guidance from supervising staff. You will work on projects your manager and supervisor review as they are completed.

Key responsibilities include:
- Support the needs of the Welfare Self-Reliance Services Division with our in-house food manufacturing facilities and Emergency Response products.
- Assist in the procurement process, including researching potential suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating pricing and terms.
- Learn and use the ERP system to supply current and past-due purchase order status updates to ensure prompt deliveries.
- Analyze and report on key performance indicators related to purchasing activities.
- Resolve issues between purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address purchasing needs.
