Job Responsibilities :
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking part-time Building / Grounds Specialist positions in the Facilities & Engineering Department.
This role will pay $15 / HR.
- Will be responsible for supervising campus daily cleanups to ensure that the campus maintains a clean, pleasant and safe environment for students, faculty, staff and guests of the college.
- Must be able to work of an assigned crew and establish and maintain effective working relationships with them.
- Must be able to assist any special projects
- Will assist college event set ups as needed
Minimum Qualifications :
A High School Diploma OR GED equivalent is required. Must have two(2) years of relevant experience in grounds maintenance and operating grounds related equipment to include;
weed eaters, mowers and blowers required. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Working knowledge of grounds keeping and horticultural practices.
Ability to supervise the work of other employees. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with crew and other grounds personnel.
Ability to make minor adjustments / repairs to grounds related equipment.
Employee must possess a valid SC driver’s license OR be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire. Employee must be able to stoop, kneel, bend and lift heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
Employee must be aerial lift certified within six months of hire, or as training is available. Employee must be able to perform all related job duties in all weather conditions.
Some weekend work mandatory. Will be scheduled when possible. Employee must be self-motivated and be able to work under limited supervision.
