JOB SUMMARY:
The program coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the given program, ranging from development, program content, scheduling, supplies, instruction, and implementation.
  • Report directly to Recreation Supervisor.
  • Work in cooperation with the Recreation Supervisor in scheduling of program dates, location, etc.
  • Design, plan, and implement program content.
  • Be capable to instruct all aspects of program, as well as oversee instructors or aides.
  • Complete all accident forms and report to supervisor.
  • Maintain for the safety of all participants.
  • Maintain open communication with all staff and patrons of the program.
  • Responsible for security, if applicable, and cleanliness of the program area at conclusion of program.
  • Record all hours worked as directed by supervisor.
  • Take attendance at each class and ensure that program waivers are signed by all participants.

  • Ability to communicate verbally using the English language.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and work with diverse groups of people.
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior instructor or coordinator experience desired
OTHER DESIRABLES:
  • License/certificate pertaining to program

The incumbent in this position must provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants during programs. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is repeatedly required to move about a court or field setting. The incumbent is required to frequently communicate with program participants and general public. This position requires the incumbent to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Physical demands may vary depending upon program being offered. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
