The CUNY School of Law seeks to hire an Academic Affairs Administrative Coordinator who will report directly to the Executive Director of Academic Affairs and work closely with the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to manage the Academic Affairs Office. This person must be dedicated to creating an educational program that honors students’ aspirations toward a legal career built on a commitment to justice, fairness, and equality.
The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for managing and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Academic Affairs Department.
Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToSupervises faculty support staff, including assignment of support staff to faculty, creation of the support staff work schedule, and management of support staff workflow;
Develops, implements, and monitors the scheduling and proctoring of midterm and final exams;
Monitors the faculty travel budget, travel authorizations, expense reports, and reconciliation of CUNY credit cards;
Collects faculty scholarship activity and awards for CUNY Central reporting;
Completes annual faculty office allocation plan;
Performs related duties as assigned.
This job includes late evenings and some weekend duties.
This position is also eligible for hybrid work (30% remote and 70% in-office) until further notice.
QualificationsBachelor's Degree required.
Cuny Title OverviewTwo(2) years of related experience preferred.
Supports projects, initiatives, and activities that impact an academic or administrative department.
  • Manages basic office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information.
  • Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections.
  • Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.
  • Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.
  • Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.
  • May supervise office staff and student workers.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
