Job DescriptionAbout the role:
The Social Media & Content Manager will report to our Vice President of Marketing and will be responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of social media content, e-commerce marketing, and brand marketing needs. This candidate should possess a strong brand point-of-view, excellent writing skills, creative ingenuity, a strong background in social media, and an ability to think through strategic elements and tactics to make informed decisions. You will join a passionate, hard-working, and cross-functional marketing team that touches all parts of the company. This role is perfect for a self-motivated and highly creative storyteller who is excited about rolling up their sleeves and collaborating with others. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in wellness and the mission of The Class and be excited to join a fast-paced, brand-centric, growing company. This role is based in NYC and will join a hybrid remote and in-office culture with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office.
What you'll do:
Manage, develop, and innovate all existing and new owned social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest
Develop an aligned brand position and content roadmap with insight and approval from the VP of Marketing and Chief Brand Officer
Develop, plan & execute weekly social calendar across all organic social channels - including support for new launches & promotions
Create, source, and post Instagram content daily
Own all aspects of TikTok content development, including production, filming, editing, captioning, and posting
Possess strong content ideation skills and the ability to work resourcefully to capture and create assets for social media
Monitor and engage users, including managing comments, engaging with followers, and sharing and promoting UGC across all platforms
Be a subject matter expert on social media trends, proactively guiding content creation and strategy
Utilize data analytics tools to track and analyze the performance of social media platforms and generate actionable insights to inform decisions
Grow The Class’ social media presence and engagement
Support brand partnerships and influencer initiatives
Work with Brand, Marketing, Content, Retail, and Creative stakeholders to develop thoughtful, compelling content that furthers brand initiatives and aligns with The Class’ brand identity
Write compelling brand and marketing copy
Create and execute marketing content via push notifications, SMS, newsletters and all digital communications for brand and partnership initiatives
Work with the Chief Brand Officer to learn and hone the brand voice, tone and key messaging for compelling delivery and brand consistency
Materials may include, but are not limited to: emails, newsletters, website, Digital Studio platform, event collateral, etc.
Support the site maintenance and marketing efforts to underpin the e-commerce business
Support the VP of Retail to manage content, creative, and reporting for retail marketing initiatives
Oversee Shopify’s site for visual merchandising, communication, and targeting (carousels, product listings, collections, navigation, etc.)
Create and launch content to support seasonal gift guides, campaigns, and product launches
Email marketing: includes custom emails, newsletters, and email flows (abandoned cart, purchase and review, etc.)
A brand-centric storyteller obsessed with writing and community building
An excellent written and verbal communicator with stellar presentation skills
Creative, scrappy, and resourceful
A self-starter who is entrenched in social media and motivated to grow a brand
A strategic thinker with a marketing mindset
An innate sense of digital, community, and authentic brand messaging

Attention to detail & ability to multitask
Ability to work from the NYC office 3 days a week
What you've done:
Minimum of 5 years of related social media/digital marketing/content strategy experience
A portfolio of work that demonstrates your writing and content creation skills in long and short format
Proven ability to uncover and implement emerging trends
Worked in high-level content strategy and hands-on production
Experience working in fast-paced, founder-led, start-up environments
Video production experience—you’re intimately familiar with in-app creator tools across social platforms and know your way around a video editing software like Adobe Premiere
Comfortability working with digital marketing and business tools including:
Klaviyo (email service provider)
Shopify (e-commerce)
Plann (social media)
Adobe Premiere Pro (social editing software)
SquareSpace (website content management)
Asana (project management)
Google docs/sheets/slides
Keynote (presentations)
Salary:
The approximate salary range for this position is $75,000–$95,000. The exact salary offered may vary based on job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education and training, business needs, and market demands.
