Overview:

We are actively recruiting an entrepreneurial, hands-on Controller who will report directly to the CEO of CG. You’ll take ownership of the accounting and finance functions that drive our growth. You will work closely with the CEO, President, and an active PE ownership group. Your insights will drive key decisions and shape the future of not only our finance function but also the direction of our business. You will have ownership over the financial controls of our existing companies and future acquisitions. You’ll help with operational initiatives like new business integration and more. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and full of entrepreneurial grit. In short, this role requires you to be a strategic partner to the CEO – not just an accountant. Lastly, we want someone who deeply believes small actions matter and when done consistently over time build credibility, trust, and positive outcomes. This is a hybrid position in the Tampa area that requires a few days a week in office.

What you’ll do:

Holding company accounting and finance

• Lead the accounting and finance department, including managing day-to-day bookkeeping, cash disbursements and bank accounts, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly GAAP financial statements for CG as a consolidated holding company.
• Model historical and future financial performance for our consolidated holding company and maintain consolidated rolling forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Oversee annual review process and federal and state tax filings.
• Assist in the preparation of board materials and board presentations.
• Develop, maintain, and own the monthly budget and forecast. Produce annual budgets and multi-year financial plans with sensitivity analysis.
• Build enhanced and automated accounting and finance systems and procedures, including controls, documentation, and training with a focus on improving closing and reporting cycles.

Subsidiary-level accounting and finance

• Review, compile, and/or prepare monthly GAAP financial statements for all acquired companies.
• Communicate, engage, and interact with the leadership teams at our portfolio companies to create and track performance relative to company budgets.
• Manage cash including monitoring balances, receipts, and disbursements, as well as maintaining rolling cash flow forecasts.
• Track key performance indicators at acquired companies to find opportunities to optimize financial performance.
• Quantify the impact of new growth initiatives on financial performance and collaborate with teams to implement those growth initiatives.

New deal diligence

• Assess the quality of financial information for new deal opportunities or portfolio tuck-in acquisitions and adjust to reach normalized revenue and earnings power.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for financial optimization for new targets.
• Prepare post-close adjustments and working capital true-ups if needed.

What we’re looking for :

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related degrees.
• Must have a CPA with early-career audit experience.
• 5 years of proven success in progressively responsible finance/accounting roles.
